A Grand Christmas Escape at Finn Village

If you’re looking for a grand luxury getaway this Christmas, Finn Village must be on your list.

Nestled just outside the charming village of Croftamie, in the heart of the Stirlingshire countryside, Finn Village is surrounded by rolling hills, ancient woodland and open skies. Once home to Sir Hugh Fraser, this grand estate offers a peaceful countryside escape with plenty of character.

There are five unique accommodations to choose from, each with its own theme and personality. I stayed in The Jungle Room, a vibrant and playful space designed for two. With bold décor, a king-size bed, Smart TV and a cosy private hot tub beneath the stars, it was the perfect place to switch off.

The room was also filled with thoughtful touches, from fluffy towels, robes and blankets to beautiful bed linen and a mini fridge stocked with some lovely treats.

I visited just after Christmas, and the decorations were incredible. They were some of the grandest I’ve ever seen at a stay, creating that magical country house Christmas feeling from the moment you arrive. The staircase in particular was spectacular.

There’s also a games and social lounge, with pool, chess, air hockey and classic board games, making it easy to enjoy a cosy evening without needing to leave the estate.

You might also recognise Finn Village from Channel 4’s Four in a Bed, which featured the property in March 2026. The Jungle Room even got its moment in the spotlight, with the episode taking viewers behind the scenes of this unique countryside retreat.

And then there’s breakfast. The night before, you fill in a breakfast sheet with exactly what you’d like, and the following morning it’s freshly cooked and served in the beautifully decorated grand room. With free-range eggs from the farm and plenty of delicious options, it really is a morning indulgence. Perhaps even the best breakfast I've ever had in Scotland.
