When you have a property with as much history as George Harrison's Childhood Home, there is no shortage of stories to tell.
I've been working with the George Harrison Childhood Home in Speke since November 2025, helping to grow awareness of the property, increase bookings and make social media work harder for the business. In just three months, the property saw a 266% increase in followers, with several videos going viral and reaching completely new audiences.
But for me, the biggest change wasn't simply the increase in followers. It was changing the way the property was being marketed.
From Beatles facts to the guest experience
When we first started working together, much of the social media content focused on George Harrison and Beatles facts. Of course, that history is a huge part of what makes the property special, but there was an opportunity to show people much more than that.
The home isn't just a piece of Beatles history. It's a holiday rental where people can actually stay, and that needed to become a much bigger part of the content strategy.
Instead of simply telling people about George Harrison, we started showing them what it would actually be like to stay in his childhood home.
That meant creating content around the property itself, the rooms, the history, the experience of staying there and the reasons someone might want to visit Speke and Liverpool.
Making the property the story
This has been one of the biggest changes to the strategy. Rather than always talking about what happened at the house in the past, we're also showing people what is happening there now. What does the property look like? What can guests expect when they arrive? What does it feel like to stay somewhere with this history? And, importantly, why would someone choose to book it for their next trip?
The history gets people interested, but the property and the experience give them a reason to stay. That's why the content now includes more of the house itself, the different spaces, guest experiences, UGC and testimonials, alongside the stories that make the property so unique. It's about bringing the history to life while making the stay the focus.

Turning followers into potential bookings
Although social metrics increased across the board, with many videos going viral, for me, social media isn't just about follower numbers or keeping your feed busy. It needs to have a purpose.
With this strategy, we're using content to introduce new people to the property, build trust, showcase the experience and give them a reason to find out more. The viral content has helped us reach audiences who may never have come across the property otherwise, while the more focused content helps turn that attention into genuine interest.
A follower is great, but someone who discovers the property through social media and then goes on to book is the real goal.
What the client says
Ken Lambert, owner of George Harrison's Childhood Home, says:
“If you own or manage a holiday let or a related business, I'd strongly recommend the services and expertise of Dawn, 'The B&B Marketer'. I've hired Dawn for several months, and I have found her to be practical, creative, and efficient in her marketing and social media plans and goals. She understands the needs of holiday lets and the broader hospitality market.”
Helping unique holiday lets tell their story, reach the right people and turn social media into a real booking tool is exactly why I love what I do. Want to see what a stronger social strategy could do for your Airbnb, hotel or holiday rental? Get in touch with Marketing Bnb to find out more.
