Sometimes the best escapes are the ones that encourage you to slow down. Hidden among the trees in the Shropshire countryside, Westcott Woods is one of those places. Tucked in the woodland beside the Shropshire Union Canal, this eco-friendly glamping site is a secret haven, perfectly set for slowing down, reconnecting and soaking up every moment of nature’s beauty.

Westcott Woods offers a selection of luxury domes, each with its own private decking and beautiful views across the canal and surrounding trees. With three different dome sizes to choose from, there’s something to suit every kind of stay - whether it’s a solo escape, romantic weekend, family holiday or getaway with friends. Westcott Woods is designed for uninterrupted time together and genuine reconnection.

From the moment you arrive, the pressure of everyday life seems to melt away. I visited during the golden autumn season, living for the cosy moments and rich colours adorning the scenery. I stayed in Polar, which sleeps up to three people and is thoughtfully equipped with a comfortable double bed, a futon for a third guest, an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower and a kitchenette complete with microwave grill, hobs, kettle, and toaster. A log burner keeps the dome warm and toasty, even on crisp autumn evenings.

The real highlight of the dome is the raised bed, perfectly positioned for stargazing. With a window directly above, falling asleep beneath a sky full of stars and waking to the soft light of a new day feels truly magical.

Outside, the private decking invites slow mornings with coffee and peaceful moments soaking up the surroundings. Nearby, there are BBQ facilities and communal spaces to cook in the fresh air. I loved exploring the woodland trails with my dog and wandering along the canal, where you’ll find pubs and cafes just a short walk away.

With log burners glowing and nature all around, Westcott Woods feels like the perfect place to reset. It’s an unforgettable escape, the kind of place you’ll already be dreaming about long after you’ve left. You can book your stay at Westcott Woods here.
